Probably an 'E' or 'K' variant because, if I'm not mistaken, they're the only ones still in service.

ttyymmnn had an interesting post a while back about a new version, apparently Sikorsky isn't ready to let it pass just yet.
I like being at any and all beaches near a base - you get views of hardware you don't get anywhere else.

The CH-53K is newer, and is slowly beep lacing the Es.
And this was taken at Myrtle Beach, which doesn't even have a base anymore. I'm guessing there's a reserve or ANG unit out there since we saw some C-17s and a C-130 as well.
